turn me on
Turn Me On (lyrics by John D. Loudermilk/ sung by Norah Jones)
Like a flower waiting to bloom
Like a lightbulb in a dark room
I'm just sitting here waiting for you
To come home and turn me on
Like the desert waiting for the rain
Like a school kid waiting for the spring
I'm just sitting here waiting for you
To come on home and turn me on
My poor heart, it's been so dark since you been gone
After all, you're the one who turns me off
You're the only one who can turn me back on
My hi-fi's waiting for a new tune
The glass is waiting for some fresh ice cubes
I'm just sitting here waiting for you
To come on home and turn me on
Turn me on

I was just listening to this song and I love the lyrics.
I especially like how it's compared to a light switch.
And it's true, isn't it? We all have someone(or many) in our life
who can bring out the light in us. We are lucky.

Great tune, L! And yes, we are blessed to have people in our lives that can make us smile. Also, great shadows on the pic. I enjoy the ambiguity of the shadow. Aarrgh. I need to get back to work... must.... log ... OFFFF!
fyi : i didn't take this picture. it's screen caps from this show. but yes i love how her eye stands out. very alluring.

Those darn Light Brings can plunge you into a bit’O’dark sometimes, but I guess is the chance we must take for the good times and good feelings. Rock on!

You know, Lorena, some fellow bloggers do this for me. And those people, those precious few that can turn night into day for me...I am so blessed and thankful for them.
i agree with you. i love this blog community. everyone is supportive and encouraging. we appreciate each other's uniqueness and i love it for that.
you for one are on the top of my list!! :)
Loved this. Loved this.
Everytime I listen to that song - as well as other songs in 'Come Away With Me' album - her intimate voice reminds me of the longing for somebody to do norahjonessing with. 'Come Away With Me' has failed my solid will to jump myself into a river full of anacondas in Venezuela, for if I really did so, there might not come a day I could ever walk with someone on a cloudy day in fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high.
All hail to Norah Jones. And you too, Lorena, for turning me on with the song.
Hi Lorena . Long time no posts ?
